Mrs. Taffy Pierce-Principal

My name is Mrs. Taffy Pierce. I am a native of Lawrence County, where I attended Hatton Elementary and graduated at Hatton High School. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University,  and from West Alabama, I received my Masters Degree in Elementary Education  and Instructional Leadership certification. During my career, I have had the pleasure of serving as a teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, and am proud to now serve as principal of Mount Hope School.

I am married to Keith Pierce. He is employed by Joe Wheeler EMC. We have one daughter, Peyton Lang, who is married to Les Lang. In February, we were blessed with our first grandchild, John Paul. I’m an avid reader, and also enjoy cooking, traveling, gardening, hiking, and spending time with my family.

I am thankful and blessed  to serve as the principal at Mount Hope School.  Our community is supportive, and together we have a strong commitment to education and high expectations from our students and staff. I have the privilege of working with a team of dedicated teachers and staff that provide our students with engaging learning opportunities each day. Our team goal is to create a safe environment where students can grow to achieve their fullest potential.  This drives our pursuit to quality education where we can reach Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day.
